The Full Story
In the world of graphic design, Julie Jardine stands out as someone who blends creativity and determination in everything she does. Julie is the heart behind JKJ Creations, and her journey into design started at just 17. Back then, she was crafting print materials for events to help fund her way through college. One of her first big projects was creating the program guide for Trades-Expo, a trade show celebrating blue-collar trades. Fast forward ten years, and Julie found herself back at Trades-Expo—this time as an exhibitor—showing young people how a bit of education and a lot of hard work can take you far.
At 19, Julie jumped headfirst into the professional world by joining a print shop in Vernon, BC. It was there she really learned the ropes—not just in graphic design but also in running digital presses and working in bindery. She turned concepts into eye-catching designs and gained hands-on experience that laid a strong foundation for her career.
Julie’s passion for design kept pushing her forward. During the creative boom surrounding THC packaging, she added to her skills by working on packaging projects, learning about die lines, and figuring out how different designs work on different materials. Later, her time in the signage world taught her how to adapt designs for three-dimensional surfaces, like vehicles, and even how to handle installations.
Along the way, Julie also taught herself web design and ventured into creating custom apparel. Through trial and error, countless hours of practice, and a determination to keep growing, she built a strong foundation in these areas. Whether it’s developing a functional, user-friendly website or designing apparel that makes a statement, Julie brings the same level of care and creativity to every project.
The story of JKJ Creations is all about persistence, growth, and a genuine love for design. Julie has carved out her own space in the industry, proving that with hard work and a drive to learn, you can make your mark no matter where you start.
